Oakland: 632 14th - Affordable Housing Project To Rise on Small Downtown Oakland Lot

A small lot on 14th Street near MLK Way in Downtown Oakland will soon be developed with an 8-story affordable housing project. Developed by Meta Housing and funded through various federal, state and local government programs, the project will include 40 units of various sizes and will be specifically targeting families. These units will be available to households earning between 30-60% of area median income. The project will also includes a small retail space on the ground floor. This project joins several other affordable housing projects that are currently in the works in Oakland. Just a few blocks away is 1701 MLK which will add 26 affordable units to the area. Other projects include AveVista near Lake Merritt (68 units), the MacArthur BART  affordable housing project (90 units), the Fruitvale BART station project (94 units) and the planned Brush Street project (150-170 units).
