Berkeley: Goodbye University Ave Grocery Outlet?

It looks like the large Grocery Outlet in West Berkeley is not going to be around much longer. According to a noticed posted near the building, another mixed use building is slated for large lot near the Amtrak station. The project which appears to have been approved by the city of Berkeley late last year, would include 152 units as well as 8,500 square feet of retail. This project would bridge the gap between an adjacent mixed-use building, The Aquatic," which is currently under construction and the existing Fourth & U apartment complex. All three buildings were designed by Tachtenberg Architects
